Sunday, September 27th: Badass Women's Tour & Small Business Panel (Philadelphia, PA)
Join the GSRC on Sunday, September 27th @ 9:00 AM for a day trip to Philadelphia to attend the Badass Women’s History Tour followed by a Small Business Panel highlighting spaces that impact women, fem, queer, and trans communities. Seats are limited to 20 and priority will go to undergraduate & graduate students but the RSVP open to all students, staff, and faculty. RSVP today!

Tour Description: “Come one, come all, and join us on this unique tour of Philadelphia! Walk alongside the Badass women who formed this city of sisterly love. Uncover the incredible entrepreneurs, doctors, politicians, artists, and activists that have made the city what it is today. Hear the untold stories you won’t get anywhere else.”

Small Business Highlight: The Stoop Pigeon (The Philly Women’s Sports Hub) and Giovanni’s Room (a space focused on HIV prevention, outreach, case management, research, and education for people living with HIV/AIDS)

Period Party

The Gender + Sexuality Resource Center (GSRC) will be hosting its second Period Party, an educational and community-centered event designed to normalize conversations about menstruation, provide access to menstrual products, and foster a supportive environment for students. The program will include interactive activities, resource-sharing, and opportunities for attendees to learn about different menstrual products, cycle management strategies, and body literacy.

The Period Party is open to all students, with particular emphasis on fostering inclusivity for students who may have limited access to menstrual products or resources. Through this event, the GSRC seeks to combine education, empowerment, and community care, promoting wellness and body positivity across campus.

Exhibition Description:

”The Gay Harlem Renaissance
examines the Black LGBTQ+ artists, writers, and performers central to the Harlem Renaissance and everyday Black gay life in the early 20th century. Marking the centennial of The New Negro—the landmark 1925 anthology edited by Alain Locke—the exhibition traces the queer creativity, friendship circles, and mentorships that flourished in Harlem’s salons, social clubs, and thriving nightlife and that helped power the Harlem Renaissance.”

Free Haircuts Program

The Gender + Sexuality Resource Center (GSRC) is partnering with Studio Copacabana to provide free hairstyling services for students of all hair types, curl patterns, and gender identities. Scheduled for February 24th and 25th from 1–7 PM, the event is intended to create an inclusive and affirming space where students can access professional hair care.

This initiative aims to support students’ well-being and self-expression, particularly for those whose gender identity or hair type may not always be accommodated in typical salon settings. By offering these services free of charge, the GSRC and Studio Copacabana seek to reduce barriers to hair care while fostering a welcoming environment that celebrates diversity and inclusion.

Exhibit Description:

“Through the lens of blood donation guidelines, artist Jordan Eagles (@jordaneagles) advocates for equality and inspires dialogue on the harmful effects of identity-based policies. The exhibition traces artist Eagles’s exploration of the visual power of blood and its use as an artistic medium and metaphor across sculpture, installation, photography, and video.”
